Builder Breakfast at Builders FirstSource in Brevard with speaker Daniel Cobb, City of Brevard Planning Director
The City of Brevard along with Builders FirstSource and The Henderson-Transylvania HBA will be providing information and seeking public input regarding a project to revise and improve the standards of growth and development for the city. The city Planning Department has been working with Demetri Bachs of the consulting firm Metrocology, and a stakeholder group made up of local citizens since June of 2015 reviewing the city's development standards. Brevard has had a zoning ordinance since May 1946 which has been updated many times over the last several decades. The current version, known as the Unified Development Ordinance, was adapted in April 2006. The current version of proposed amendments will result in a code that resembles what is commonly referred to as a "Form-Based Code".
The presenter scheduled for March 22nd will be Daniel Cobb, City of Brevard Planning Director. He will explain the project, answer any questions and gather your input on the process. Mr. Cobb is a graduate of Appalachian State University with a double major in Community/Regional Planning and Geography. He is also a graduate of the Municipal Administration Course from the UNC School of Government. Mr. Cobb has been employed by the City of Brevard since August of 2008and assumed his current role as Planning Director in July, 2015.
